I buy and keep these every three years.
i must admit I haven't read the 2021 edition yet. i bought an ex-library copy for £10 which is excellent value. for the latest edition I would go to a library as it would be excessively expensive. i have been buying Statesman's Yearbooks at intervals since the 1950s. they are a major source for up to date information. i notice that the emphasis of the volumes has changed over time. In the 1930s royal families and naval armaments received much attention. More recently I concentrated on economic information. This is harder to find these days as publications such as "Geographical Digest" no longer exist. When we get to the present the emphasis is now on a historical summary (excellent), details of the leading politicians, and rather less on economic statistics. The latter are often out of date so they are obviously harder to access. i will be buying the 2024 edition second hand in 2026 if I am still around.
