JAYBIRD VISTA 2 True Wireless Sport Headphones Blue New Sealed 985-000930
17 August 2021
Fantastic for general use and indoor exercise
What I like: --It came charged. --The fit is secure and customizable. They're comfortable enough for a couple hours, but I would not want to wear them all day. --The noise-cancelling is good, though to be honest the ANC doesn't seem to add a lot. SurroundSense effectiveness seems pretty variable depending on your surroundings. Sometimes it's startlingly effective (usually indoors), sometimes it has wonky results (usually outdoors). --The buds themselves are waterproof and the case is water-resistant. --Battery life is more than acceptable. --Easy to use. The buds turn on and connect immediately as soon as you remove them from the case. If you only take out one bud, only one bud turns on, simple. So you can use just one at a time if you want, no fuss. --The controls are customizable. Each bud has a single button and supports double tap as another input. You can set what each of these does per ear. What I don't like: --The double tap doesn't work well at all. You might as well pretend that function doesn't exist. --I wasn't able to pair via the app, it just didn't work. I have a sneaking suspicion this had something to do with an OS-level permissions hangup, though. Other notes: --I can't comment on call quality, you'll have to look elsewhere for that. --These support Google Fast Pair. I have no idea how it works, but it does. --The case supports wireless charging, but I don't have a wireless charger and don't plan to buy one in the near future. --The case and buds independently have a "Find my Case/Find my Buds" feature, but it's contingent on you allowing constant location history for the Jaybird app. While I understand the necessity, I don't want to do that, so I can't comment on the reliability of this feature. --While SurroundSense MIGHT help with outdoor running and/or biking, that's not what I got these for and I think I'm principally opposed to wearing earbuds while biking, so I can't help you there. Bottom Line: My use case for these is having a reliable pair of earbuds for the gym and for general use. So far, I would say they've exceeded expectations, and convinced me of the worthwhileness of true wireless buds where before I felt they were a fad. Mind, I'm normally of the opinion that earbuds are inherently not something worth putting a lot of money into, as I go for headphones when I want proper sound and build quality. These changed my mind.
