Black finish is terrible

The black finish on these nipples is terrible. A few turns with the nipple wrench and it starts wearing off and looks terrible. I got halfway into lacing my wheel and took it apart. Re-laced with Sapim silver brass Polyax I had on hand and the wheel turned out great. Great nipples, but the black brass ones are to be avoided.
