Blyton classics on DVD.
Around 1955 I became aware of the Enid Blyton Adventure Series of books. These were very impressively printed and nowadays pristine first editions with good dust jackets are very valuable. Sadly, my copies were damaged by numerous young readers. These DVDs capture much of the fun.
If nothing else, they show the numerous attractions of the South Island of New Zealand for tourists. They prompted me to reread the old copies of the original books. The DVDs are good for a new generation and also for oldies suffering from nostalgia.

THE REAL BATMAN
The Adam West + Burt Ward `Batman' TV series of the 1960s was not available on DVD until relatively recently. Exceptionally the one film made by the cast and production team was widely appreciated and has been on the DVD market for ages. Tantalizing bits of the TV series were to be found on Youtube. Here we have the complete sequence of over 100 of the 23-minute shows. It is an exaggeration to say that hat decade was memorable for the three Bs -- Bond, Beatles, Batman, but this is still great stuff. Latter-day Batman films are quite different and much less fun.

A very useful book for parents of children with Aspberger's.
Asperger's syndrome is now fairly well understood. The sufferers are mostly young males. My own experience is that working on it halves the problem every decade. On the other hand the sufferers mostly have special skills that are needed in various niches in the modern economy. Tony Atwood is undoubtedly an expert and has been able to put much into this book, which nicely complements professional advice.
