Feel good movie for the whole family!
This is a feel good movie with great musical numbers! Featuring some of the more well known black artists like Beyoncé Knowles, Angie Stone & Shirley Ceaser. Cuba Gooding Jr performs fantastically!
The storyline revolves Darrin Hill around (Cuba) a cheapskate who loves nothing more than money, money and money. His late Aunt Sally (on of the most involved members of a baptist church) left him a large inheritance on one condition - that he leads the baptist choir to the "Gospel Explosion" and wins, a competition that is prestigious amongst the Christian members of the USA.
Eery movie has to have a pretty girl. In comes Lily (Beyoncé), the single mom that is ignored because of her son (conceived in conditions that the baptist church didn't particularly approve of) and her work singing secular music. You can guess what happens between them! The plot is slightly predictable, however not enough to spoil the overall warmth of the movie.
Whether religious or not, this movie has something for everyone! 9 / 10

A cute little number with a big sound
1 of 1 found this helpful Altec Lansing is a trusted company, and these speakers have not disappointed me at all. These speakers are amazing for their size. I borrowed some for my room at uni and these are more than enough for that. The sound quality is clear and the sub woofer has a very powerful bass. I can easily hear them through the house.
Positives:
- They are durable, even when they fall off my desk
- They produce a very good sound low to mid range volume
Negatives:
- Not really that portable as they are heavy (however that can be expected given the size of the sub woofer)
- At high volumes the bass does become distorted, which is a shame as the bass sounds very good
Overall a very good buy if you can find one of these gems! I use these in my room and it's more than enough sound for me! I score a 4/5!
Why should you buy them? If you like your music but don't want to spend too much on speakers but still rate the quality, these are for you!
