An excellent cutting maching.
3 of 4 found this helpful I purchased this saw brand new & overall I am very happy with it.
The only problem I ran into was when trying to install the bar/chain. The instruction sheet says to remove the transportation "ring", not rings, there are actually 2 of them. And they are not rings at all but 2 white plastic washers that sit over the bar studs under the clutch cover. The instructions are very vague about this.
These transportation rings also make it difficult, if not impossible, to engage the chain brake properly. If you accidently attempt to engage the brake lock before removing these rings you will probably NOT be able to do it properly and as a result you will have a great deal of difficulty removing the cover. If you DO manage to remove it, you will find that the cover will not go back on because the clutch brake is now engaged, making it impossible to install back over the clutch.
After searching Google I saw that this is a very common problem with this model.
You now have 2 options.
Take your saw to a repair shop or fix it yourself.
Since it appears this is not that uncommon with this saw I decided to make a "key" to fit over the piece in the clutch cover that ordinarily engages with the brake handle. Using an angle grinder & an old socket wrench I ground out 3 slots that roughly matched the clutch locking piece. You can see what this looks like if you Google "Husqvarna 460 Chain Brake Fix" (the 460 model is virtually identical to the 455).
The key works like a charm and if the lock should ever slip again for any reason you will always be prepared for it.
Other than this one issue, I think this product is great.

Great watch - Simple & Functional
2 of 2 found this helpful I purchased this to wear as an everyday/casual watch. I already have two other Eco-Drive watches but they are all stainless steel and are less suited for working around the house and yard. Citizen Eco-Drive watches are solar powered so never need batteries. I know from past experience they are also very reliable and accurate. This watch has a green band that appears to be made out of heavy duty nylon material that is comfortable to wear all day and wears very well. The face is clear & uncluttered and is very easy to read at a glance. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a perpetual calendar so I have to remember to verify the correct date displays at the end of every month. I am tempted to buy another one just as back up, but my past experience with Citizen Eco-Drive watches tells me that I probably won't need one.
