Think you know TO? Nope, not even close!
I'm a football fan, and for some reason, Terrell Owens has always caught my interest. This book is not your typical "I'm an athlete cashing in for a buck" book, though I suspect TO made a nickel or two on this one! It delves into the past of this superstar, highlighting his youth and his experiences along the way to becoming the person he is, and that's important here. This book opens up Terrell Owens, the person, along with TO, the star, and they are two very different people. Most poignant is his obvious love for his family, particularly his grandmother. You can feel his pain as he talks about her decline in health and how hard it has been for him to handle. He also has a no holes barred look at himself and his complex relationships, from Jeff Garcia, to his sideline altercation with Greg Knapp (yuk!) and more. This precedes the McNabb saga, so it's interesting to read and see the events that have made Terrell Owens "TO". There are two distinct personalities, and this is an intriguing insight into both of them. Definitely humanizes the man (teammate, father, son) and gives insight into his humble beginnings and his true love for people. Interesting and worth a glance--much more open than most "sports books"!

Sony Handycam is light as a feather and a joy to use!
It had been many years since I bought a camcorder. Of course, they'd all gone much more high-tech since then, and I wasn't sure about all the features. After looking at different models, I chose this Sony. First of all, it is extremely light and easy to handle. The hand strap fits like a glove, and it's truly a one-handed model. It easily ports into my TV and computer for downloads, and the software is excellent. The night vision feature is great. The picture is quite clear, and the distortion you sometimes see with the audio is non-existant. I have found I can film it through a glass in the car or home and get no "splashback" or having to hold the lens to the glass. It is just easy and enjoyable. This is a great model in that it's not so ultra expensive, yet still is durable and gives great features for the money. I'd highly recommend it simply because of the ease of use!

Canon EOX Rebel XT - a must have!
I have been a Minolta film camera user for many years, had many accessories (that I sold on Ebay once I got the Rebel). I cannot believe this camera. It is lightweight, even when I add on the large zoom lens I bought (you can buy off-brand lens and save some money, the quality is the same--I think I bought Quantumm) and once you can work through the settings, it's wonderful. It even sounds like my old 35mm, and the continual action shooting is phenomenal. Read the manual. I suggest trying out some things and then reading the manual as you can start to understand the book better if you've played with it a bit prior. One thing also I would mention is that it comes in silver and black. Be careful on the silver camera. I have a friend who bought it (I have black) and she said she can sometimes get some flash distortion flashing back from the silver camera depending on lighting/setting. I have not experienced this personally but share it in case it might be a problem. Silver is the better looking camera but the black is very nice also. I recommend highly. It's pricey but worth it!! Enjoy!
