IR100 is a great little radio
The IR100 is a great little internet radio, with some added "character" that can be cured. It uses the Reciva website to link to over 17,000 radio stations worldwide and uses your wireless broadband connection to "tune-in" to them. The radio has a lovely mellow tone and fairly easy controls with a volume knob and larger jog-wheel selector. You just choose your wifi network, enter your password if secured and you are away, no computer needed. It has only 5 preset station buttons on the box, but you can create your own favourites list using your account on Reciva. You can choose to hunt for stations by genre or location. Most problems you may read about on the internet have been cured by up to date firmware (downloaded automatically) but it still has a couple of foibles. The main one is the background hum that is present even when in standby. This is cured by moving the transformer in the box away from the speaker inside. Also, the wireless antenenna has limited range for some people and some interference which is again cured by moving it in the box. Overall, a great radio and perfect if you have bad reception for FM or DAB.

MEDION LIFE P69055 Wireless multi room speaker 2x18w RMS Lifestream App - Black

A gem of a speaker
A quality made speaker, unusual for Medion, large and heavy for this sort of device. BUT do not expect too much connectivity or support. These are strictly DLNA/UPNP and Qualcast Allplay (without Spotify support) specficially, wifi only (no bluetooth) along with a line in. If you are not willing to play or do not know what those are then don't bother. If you have Apple devices don't bother. Otherwise, they connect to wifi in a couple of ways, go loud, have quality sound with limited treble. Don't bother with finding the Medion Android apps, use the Qualcast Allplay Jukebox app and the radio app which are both straight forward and work. Beyond that you can cast to them from Windows and the rest is up to with what you can find in the way of program support for DNLA/UPNP.
