works great
only recommendation is to screw these down rather than using the self adhesive strip, they tended to come loose when suing the tape. Also, they seem to be pretty specific for the magnet that comes in the set, I originally just needed to replace the sensor, but the magnet on the door from the old sensor wouldn't reliably activate this one. Once I replaced the magnet, worked fine.

good value
good replacement product for wired, whole house alarm system. This is for a 4 wire system that attaches to a central box, 2 for the alarm circuit and 2 for the power. It replaced an older, malfunctioning sensor and worked fine out of the box. It has an internal temperature sensor so it can alarm for smoke or heat. There is an external test button as well as the usual magnetic test trigger, which is handy as I didn't have a magnet available when I installed it. Only downside is that the junction block (where you connect the wires) is affixed to the unit, so you have to screw in the terminals while holding the unit. I have used other brands where the screw terminals either are on a separate block that snaps into the unit once you have connected the wires, or on the baseplate that the unit snaps to, making them a little less cumbersome to install.

superb little monitor
1 of 1 found this helpful I've had one of these in in my sports car to supplement the dash gauges in 2009. It has worked perfectly for 12 years now and gives lots of information not available through idiot lights. When I bought a new Ford diesel truck I realized that the dashboard display would not show such things as oil life percentage (it only tells you "change oil soon" and "change oil now" with no information on what that means), soot load of the exhaust and more importantly when the regeneration cycle was running. Since those items are must know for me (the diesel will apparently not run properly when it calculates 0% oil life and the engine efficiency drops when it is regenerating). The x-gauge feature allowed me to set up those gauges as well as a numerical output for the turbo boost rather than the vague dash output. Also, 4 gauge outputs on the screen at the same time prevents a lot of scrolling. Installation is a snap, one cable pugs into the OBD plug, the other end into a jack on either the side or back of the unit depending on how you want to mount it.
