Warbird Tech. Series F-105 Thunderchief
I only own a few books on the F-105, but this one is arguably on of the best of what I do have. Its 100 pages provide a nice detailed look at the definitive Century Series fighter from its inception in the 1950's until its retirement in the 1980's. There is a wealth of information on the development of the airframe, engine and the mission the plane was designed for, a nuclear strike fighter, and the transformation from that roll into its use as a fighter bomber and Wild Weasel roll in Vietnam. The book covers the B,D,F, and G models and some proposed variants that never went into production. There are several black and white period photos of the Thud in Vietnam and elsewhere scattered throughout the book. There is also 4 pages of color pictures included, but I would have liked to see more than the four pages, but I'll take what I can get. This is a great book if and when you can find it. I am happy I stumbled upon it and was able to purchase it when I did. If you are a fan of the Thud, this is one book to have.
