New door lock for Kia Sorento

I purchased this and fitted it myself to my 2010/2011 Kia Sorento. Took about 2 hours with watching the YouTube videos. You will need to unplug the electrical connector that goes onto the door lock to remove the metal door liner, or you will have trouble sliding the metal door interior trim out to access the lock mechanism. Same goes for when putting it back together, the plug is the last thing to do when re-fitting the panel. It took me another three hours to work out why my lock for the fitted part was opposite to the other three doors. As in it would lock as the other three unlocked. This part is for America I presume. A bloke in NZ said in a Kia chat forum to swap the blue and orange wires. I wasted another 2 hours and 40 minutes before I read it. Swapped them, and it works like a bought one. Another suggestion for you. There is also the need to take the two plugs out of the middle of the steel door liner, and raise or lower the window to line the bolts up with the two holes and loosen them to lift the glass out. Just check everything is working right before putting it all back together. This part was brand new. And quality is identical to the old one. I am not sure if the small spring in the old lock mechanism failed because of a design fault or the kids pulling hard with full body weight when opening the door. I would happily buy another of these.

Excellent. Easy to use. The leads work fine, good quality. The metal casing is good also, as I broke one I had been given a couple of years ago that had a plastic sleeve. I bought a couple as they are easy to leave laying around. 12 spare leads should last me years.

Car trim removal kit

Excellent range of removal tools. Quick to arrive. Had a little burring on their edges, but it is easy to remove. I presume most kits would be similar. I would happily buy another.
