A much more sure and complete rendering than that of the Masoretic texts compiled and edited by jewish scholars between the 7th and 11th century. The Orthodox Study Bible is a faithful translation of the Septuagint and should be in the hands of not only every Orthodox Christian but any Christian who desires the full and complete story.
Numerous times in the New Testament, scripture is quoted by Christ or the Apostles yet when you look for the reference you see something vastly different. However if you look in this translation of the Septuagint, low and behold there you see it, just as quoted.
I would also highly recommend "Which Bible is Better" by Fr. Joseph Gleason. You can get that publication through Lulu Press. You will be astounded when you see how scriptually impoverished you have been without a proper translation of the Septuagint. Get the Orthodox Study Bible and Fr. Gleason's book and ask your Evangelical friends to consider the scriptures that Jesus quoted.
