The anvil without hook is OK for ordinary pruning.
It doesn't have the end hook. Doesn't capture the branch well on Douglas Fir. It's what makes the Corona FL 3420 the super pruner that it is. Go to Ace Hardware for the replacement blade and hooked end anvil, all in one, at slightly more in cost.
