Seal should be rubber, not plastic.
The seal was supposed to be high durameter rubber, not hard plastic. The time will tell if it will leak. I have had the similar seal and the seal was hard rubber, not plastic.
Starter Motor ACDelco 336-1873A Reman

Wrong application.
This starter was advertised for my car (70 Oldsmobile 442) application. However this part is not direct replacement for any of 70 Oldsmobile car. All 70 Oldsmobile cars have starters with the side support stud for the brace which supports the starter by attaching it to the motor block. My attached pic shows the stud at the bottom of the magnetic field of my original starter. Now I already paid for the part, core and shipping, and I am not happy about it. I don't know who to blame for this confusing information.
