Raw and tasty
These sounds are a matter of taste. If non-audiophile sound drives you crazy, move along. Given that this is a live recording somebody did on a portable reel to reel, in 1966, it's very solid. And catching the Shadows live right then...If you dig garage band/protopunk, this is great, right down to Sohn's and Kelley critiquing the greasers. Very cool.
