Donna Leon does it again
A police procedural which never loses sight of the humanity of it's characters. Add to that the most beautiful city in the world and the convolutions of it's administrators, and a good story on which to hang the ruminations of it's hero (and author) and you have a most satisfying read.

Donna Leon is incapable of writing a book that is anything but well worth reading.
