Good value?
Maybe not if you are a healthy young cash-strapped drummer with a good back and no money to spare. But if, like me, you've been drumming for decades and often find yourself aching for moments of effective back support during your sets, this throne could be the best investment you'll ever make. It's comfortable, super stable and supportive just as a stool, but with the highly adjustable backrest in place, it's easily the best drum seat I've ever used. One drawback I've discovered is, if you tend to plonk your cymbal case on your stool on tight stages like I do, you'll have to learn to balance that case on top of the folded down backrest - but, apart from that one tiny caveat, this Tama throne is a keeper. It might be big and heavy, and take up more space in your car than the last drum stool, but now, when I'm seated on this thing behind my kit, for the first time in years I know I'm ready for anything - a truly great piece of ergonomic engineering.

Very versatile!
A truly beautiful instrument, combining sensitivity with deafening power - this one is a keeper, suitable for every style and genre that I play. Simply playing a few centimetres left or right of centre changes everything, and yet this drum has a distinctive sound all of it's own, all over the head.
A really gorgeous cross-stick tone, bright rim shots and detailed grace notes, coupled with that truly solid back beat snare sound which only the greatest drums produce. Worth every cent.
