When nothing but the best will do.
If you are a professional and fasten a lot tie wraps,, this is the only tool to have. Pricey but built like a tank and cuts the tails off flush with consistently adjustable tension. It's a pleasure to use each and every time.

Archos beats Ipod in many important ways.
The Archos Gmini 400 is a great MP3/video player especially considering that it costs much less than the comparable 30gb Ipod. Yes, it does have 10gb less storage but there are other things that make up for that. Foremost, this player does not require the use of a "music management" software package like Itunes or Windows Media Player. It is recognized as a removable hard drive. You just drag and drop to it, create folders, delete songs or folders, or any other filing task, and then when you unplug the USB cable the internal library is automatically updated. This model also has a built in CF reader. It's great if your DLSR camera users CF as it can act as a storage vault transferring photos directly from the card in the field. Also using the USB connection, it can be used to store any type of data you would like, just like any other removable hard drive. Navigation is not as slick as the Ipod, but it works well enough after a bit of use. Battery life for me has been a full 8 hours for MP3 playback. Another area that this player raises the bar is audio quality. It leaves the Ipod in the dust. Plug a quality pair of ear phones into this player, and you will hear just how good audio playback can be. Another important factor for me is durability. I use mine daily on construction sites and it takes a fairly large amount of physical abuse. I have dropped it on numerous occasions from 6 feet or higher and it just keeps on cranking out the tunes. My "white collar" type friends with Ipods have all experienced at least one failure of their Ipods since I got my Archos, and that has been with gentle handling. This player can also be used to record audio directly with the built in mic, and video from external sources like a VCR for example. The optional wired remote adds FM tuner capability and the control has well laid out functions and a display. If you can live with 10gb less space and you are willing to sacrifice the ability to use some of the cool aftermarket Ipod accessories, than you will get a lot more for a lot less with this fine device.
