An Action-Packed Trip Down Memory Lane
As someone who hasn't played the previous games in the franchise, this title was very easy to get into. The retro feel of the game is the exact kind of nostalgia I was looking forward to, so if you want a nice throwback to classic retro games, Streets of Rage 4 does an excellent job. The gameplay is fluid, the characters are memorable, and the enemies pose enough of a challenge to keep you engaged throughout.
The only complaint I have about the game is how short the story mode is! I'm a big fan of story-driven games, so I was hoping to spend more time with this title. I might just have to give the co-op mode (an excellent feature to have) a shot and play it again with a player 2.
Overall, Streets of Rage 4 is an action-packed trip down memory lane that any fan of arcade classics (in the style of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs) is bound to enjoy.
