THE Visual Compendium of Route 66

If you have a history/car buff in the family, this is a really fine collection of images of the Mother Road. The "then and now" format is really well done, and the text is limited enough as to not distract from the images. As such, this is a "look and wonder" sort of book, not so much a research/resource book. This book would make a fine coffee table book or conversation piece, and if you have a fondness for nostalgia, it's hard to beat.

Perfect Throwing Knife

I've thrown a bunch of knives and axes over the years. These Hibben are my favorite (even more than his older designs). I prefer these larger 11" ones over smaller blades as they have enough heft to feel like you're actually throwing something solid (think: throwing a baseball vs. throwing a wiffle ball). The point delivers excellent penetration (far better than leaf-style blades) but it's just wide enough to provide strength. They'll nick if you hit another blade already in the target, but I would expect that. I just love throwing these.
