Faceless Killers
This author is on the mark, you feel like it is a real person rather than a novel. Kurt Wallander is not a super hero and makes a lot of mistakes as he bumbles through his personal life, but he is basically a solid sound person that you find yourself rooting for. As someone of a similar age to the detective, and living in New England which seems to be similar to Sweden, it seems so totally realistic.
Faceless Killers was a very good read.
