OO/HO Coach lighting ideal where you need to avoid using a battery but keep lights on at stops
oo/ho gauge coach lighting that works well, especially where you want the lighting to be maintained for a time when track voltage is off (DC layouts), such as stopped at a signal or in a station. The 'super capacitor' provides a decent reserve of power, albeit at a low voltage level and thus reduced brightness. It maintains the light for a couple of minutes or so,
I have used similar lighting in other coaches but fed by a battery, which is even better, but modifying an older Jouef railcar set I found the coach bodies tricky to get apart and didn't fancy having to do it too often to replace the batteries. This seems a good option. The length provided meant I could cut the pcb as indicated, extend one of the LEDs and slot it into the position where the original bulb illuminated front and tail lights; the LED is brighter and flickering is avoided. The general intensity of the LEDs does, however, vary with speed/voltage level on DC layouts.

Pure class from a wonderful model railway brand
The Rivarossi products were a huge step beyond most of the OO/HO gauge model trains of the sixties and seventies, built in Italy by true craftsmen and women who had a real passion for what they did. The Royal Scot in LMS livery was one of two British locos they added to their range and it is truly marvellous if you are lucky enough to find one in pristine condition, as I was. It is tender driven (the motor is built into the tender) but because they felt it was wrong to have the tender pushing the loco, they built a driveshaft through to the loco. It's the kind of attention to detail you can expect from the range. Thoroughly recommended, as are the accompanying LMS carriages if you can find them. Beautiful stuff.
