You really can't be disappointed with this lens.
4 of 4 found this helpful I have the canon 17-40 f/4L and wanted something wider... This really does the job. Yes it distorts at 8mm (how could it not?), and yep it's soft wide open but some of the best pictures I've ever taken have been through this lens.

Great camera.
Best camera for the money! The ability to control remote flash's optically is great too.
Live view is slow, and not usable for picture taking but very useful for video shooting.
ISO performance is probably on par with my canon 5d mk ii up to about 6400 which is fantastic.
