I'm the Best by Marjorie Sharmat
Very cute book written from the dog's viewpoint about what it is like being a shelter dog - being adopted by different people, given a different name, thinking that your new owner will keep you forever, and then for different reasons being sent back to the shelter. The little dog feels disappointment, hopes that someone, ANYONE, will pick him, and frustration when they don't..... Should help children to realize a pet SHOULD be a FOREVER decision, that animals are NOT 'throw-away' objects!
Ultimately a happy ending (unlike the real world). The pictures are cute, and the dog's language is easy to understand for a child.
Would DEFINITELY recommed this book!

The Silver Brumby Movie (aka Thowra)
1 of 1 found this helpful The DVD generally tries to follow Elyne Mitchell's book, The Silver Brumby, and does a very good job! Narrated in part as if by Miss Mitchell herself, the main characters in the book are present (within time constraints of the movie), and Russell Crowe plays 'the man on the black horse' - Thowra's human adversary in the book. The horses do not speak (as they did in the book), but the narrative explains the action, and it is all very believable.
I would recommend this DVD to anyone who is a fan of the Silver Brumby books!! They have truly tried to make Thowra come alive...

Fantastic grains!
4 of 4 found this helpful Bought the 1/2 cup grains (which came a day early!!), followed directions, am doing 3rd batch, and already have TONS of extra grains! These things multiply faster than mice!!
Will be giving small batches to relatives, AND as a bonus I discovered the grains themselves are great for your dog - they obviously help the bacteria in the dog's stomach, but also help prevent any yeast infections in the dog's ears! Try this website for info -- three-little-pitties then in the search box type kefir grains - scan about halfway down page til you see a pic of a pit bull with the pic title of Benefits Of -- and it talks about kefir grains! Anything that helps avoid a vet trip works for me.
Glad I bought these!
