Sonic CD, not one of my favorites.
Sonic CD is one of those games you just have to try, because it's "Sonic" right? Well, it's him, but he's in a twisted, pitiful mess of a game. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sonic series on the Genesis, I still play them to this day, they never get old, but this game is awful. I do, however, like a couple of songs on the soundtrack, mainly "Sonic Boom" and the "Palmtree Panic" themes. However, this cannot make up for the rest of the game's so-called "qualities." The main reason I dislike the game is the level design. A Jumbled, twisted mess of objects on the screen unfortunately greets Sonic as he tries to complete a level. All of these objects just slow the pace down (Sonic was made to go fast!!). I also believe the "time-travel" feature to be the most ridiculously annoying feature in the game. I commend the game developers for trying to do something different, but this just doesn't work. Once again, this slows the pace of the game down! I would rather the developers take the "Sonic 2" approach and create a larger variety of levels in different worlds. I got so bored in most of the Sonic CD levels, I had to take a break, and summon the courage to play it the next day. (I really wanted to give this game a fair shake). Overall, stay away from this game at all costs, I love Sonic, just not this depressing let-down of a game.
