Very enjoyable
I grew up watching these as a kid, and they are just as good now as they were then.

Straightforward monster movie without the needless foul language and romantic angles
This is just a great story of how a couple guys captured an infant sea monster and the mama came to it's rescue. No attempt at a romantic angle that cheapens and ruins the entire story, no foul language or needless sex to sell the picture that ruins it for good wholesome viewers . Just a straightforward story of a seamonster wreaking havoc to get her baby back and destroys everything in its path in the process. Wish there were more movies like this.

Cavallara okay, Pagliacci powerful
I bought this for Pagliacci, and was not familiar with the other title. Cavallara had Sicily scenery, and was a ' you deserve what you got ' story. The storyline in Pagliacci puts Shakespeare's tragedies to shame , and of course, the voice of Domingo in the heartbreaking aria Vesti la gubba (put on the costume and laugh, clown, laugh ) is seen as one of operas most powerful emotional upheavals. Subtitles come with it. I do not always use subtitles, but it made the difference in this storyline. A must have for every fan of the opera.
