Babette's Feast (dvd)
2 of 2 found this helpful English captioned foreign films are generally a challenge to watch, because you cannot avert your eyes from the TV even for a moment, or you'll miss the dialogue. So I was a bit disappointed when I realized this film was captioned English.
Yet this is a movie that I will always remember, because the message was SO wonderful. Here among these drab, yet upstanding peoples lived a woman who toiled for years unappreciated, and her talents hidden; her fame unknown. One day she performs a selfless act that changes the whole village. Watching this unfold is more exciting than watching non-stop car chases, and explosions.
This is a must see, especially for people who love to cook, or who are extremely creative. It's a timeless treasure.

Human Weapon - The Compete Season One
1 of 1 found this helpful This was a Christmas present for my 14 year old son; he, my husband and I are all black belts in karate, and found this series amazing. It would be a challenge to come up against any one of these martial artists in a dark alley. This is quite a thorough overview of the martial arts.

Read this book immediately.
In the image of "Killing Lincoln", and the book which follows, "Killing Jesus", this book is a "can't put it down" book sure to fascinate. "Killing Lincoln" was such an interesting book that I couldn't wait to read the other two "killing" books by O'Reilly. Especially if you lived through the 1960's, you won't want to miss this thrilling historical account of those perilous times.
