Great head unit, best bang for your buck!
1 of 1 found this helpful There are a few draw backs about this Pioneer (DEH-p3700MP) head unit. However, for the price you may choose to over look certain issues. The Pioneer has a powerful wattage (50X4) rating, and sounds nice when listening to CD's and certain radio stations. The EQ feature is handy and easy to use. However, the display is to small, and the FM/AM preset buttons are tiny. This unit features a "Tuner IIID" feature which is suppose to increase FM/AM radio receiption and sound quality. Radio receiption was average at best. CD sound quality playback is not up to snuff when compared to the Alpine head unit CDA-9847 which I also own. Yes, the Alpine head unit costs $50.00 more, but the Alpine's radio and CD sound quality is a level above the DEH-p3700MP's. Also, the Alpine has a larger, less busy display (which displays more text from enabled CD's) and larger FM/AM preset buttons. The Alpine unit has a lower power rating than the Pioneer (RMS) but sounds more powerful. Also I prefer the Alpine over the Pioneer because of button placement. As a driver your reach is closer with the Alpine when searching for CD title tracks than with the Pioneer.
