Paris Does Have a 'Spring' in it's Step...A Strong One!
I have always been a fan of foreign films and many American movies have been derived from some of the most creative tales ever to glimmer on the big screen. "Empire of the Wolves" definately shows it's colors with a storyline bent on twisting the viewers idea of suspense that keeps one anticipating where the next scene will them lead into. At first, I found the subtitles somewhat of a distraction but soon fell into the plot with no problem. It is dubbed with English voice-overs, but I find them in the catagory of the old 'B' movies, thus lending a campy affect overall. I have always been impressed with French actor Jean Reno(The Professional,Mission:Impossible,Da Vinci Code). His role is delivered with an almost perfect performance as a once bad cop called in from retirement to assist a young detective through an investigation of multiple hideous murders taking place within the darkly lit underworld of a deadly right-wing political organization plotting to expand the Turkish empire. They soon find that the wife(Arly Jover) of a French government official with a secret past, could be the next target. With many twists and unexpected turns, the plot thickens with an utmost thrill that keeps you glued to the edge of your seat. You won't want to stop for popcorn! This Film is a great, suspenseful keeper. I took a chance on it and now I'm very glad that I did. Don't let this one pass you by. IMPRESSIVE! A STUNNING PIECE OF ART! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! "THAT'S HOT"
