Walt Kelly stories and art
Walt Kelly was a great comic illustrator and writer, best known for Pogo. The four volumes gather his lesser-known stories about Our Gang, aka The Little Rascals, from the 1940s. It's unfortunate that only about half of the stories were reprinted when the series was discontinued.

A Good Low-Budget Sci-Fi Thriller
An effective science-fiction thriller that transcends its low budget. While not a great movie, it is fun. The costumes and sets are good, and the music is eerie. There are some slow spots, but overall it's worth a look.

Invade This!
"Strange Invaders" was pretty good, and fun. It effectively created an eerie atmosphere. We liked it.
"Invaders from Mars" (1986) was alright, and the alien sets looked great but the aliens themselves just didn't work. They looked silly, clunky and fake (not a good combo). The plot followed the original film pretty closely, which I appreciated. A better alien design might have helped the movie, but it still would have been inferior to the stylish original, which may be one of the best movies of all time at creating an otherworldly environment with its weird camera shots.
