Promise and Power: The Life and Times of Robert McNamara - Hardcover - GOOD

Robert McNamara - his life and career!
This book does an exceptional job of laying out in full the life and career of Robert McNamara, America's longest serving Defense Secretary. Meticulously researched and compelling writing make this book a must have for anyone interested in the time period in which McNamara lived and worked, which was quite a significant amount of years. Great book overall, highly recommended!

    Excellent Film! Jeremy Renner delivers!
I'm not Roger Ebert by any stretch, which is to say that I'm still alive and not a film critic (he was among the best, so I say that w/ humorous respect), so you should take this review with a grain of salt! If there was going to be a fourth "Bourne" film w/out Matt Damon, then Jeremy Renner more than steps up and gets the job done, in both his portrayal of Aaron Cross, as well as his own acting chops. Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton deliver fine performances, and making brief appearances from their roles in the previous films are Scott Glen, David Strathairn, Albert Finney and Joan Allen. The plot essentially runs along side of the last 30-45 minutes of "....Ultimatum", so that adds something to the plot. Some make the mistake of going for the all too convenient comparisons to the previous three films where Matt Damon is concerned. Simply stated, no one can top Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, and thankfully this film doesn't try to. It creates a different character (though obviously one along similar lines to Bourne in terms of superior physical ability, CIA asset gone off course, etc., sans the major emphasis on amnesia....Aaron Cross has flashbacks of certain things), in Renner's portayal of Cross. Definitely worth seeing, and worth purchasing if you want to complete the collection. No telling if there will be a fifth film, but I have no regrets in purchasing. You can read numerous reviews of the plot itself simply by doing a google search, but I treaded lightly in doing so prior to buying, so that I would allow myself the chance to enjoy the movie more prior to seeing it. Highly recommended, "Two Thumbs Up" per the Ebert/Siskel era :), and I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars!
