One of the best shows ever aired
Slings & Arrows is one of the best TV shows that ever aired. It combines dry humor and great dialogue with sly and sometimes heartbreaking insight into Shakespeare, theater, the tension between art and commerce, relationships, and life and death. All in just six episodes a year. The third and final season is the most poignant and arguably the best.
I'm not sure why the price of the DVDs jumped recently, but they're still worth it.

Director's cut is the way to go
It's long but the extra footage restores some of the drama and missing story elements from the theatrical release. The extras are amazing.
