simple durable good look

this model shows the quality in mid century american toys, using metals that would not appear in toy locomotives until recently. the high quality, attention to detail are a record of american made products in all u s manufacturing even now. also, no computerised distraction. exquisite precision, to a 'prairie design' that was found on all railroads.

a very well made product
1 of 1 found this helpful this engine follows a series begun before the war in which lionel began to move away from tin plate and into a more realistic look. this 'prairie' class was widely used in american railroads where the terrain was mostly flat. this model represents the high level of machining still found in american products overall.
