Not made anymore, but it should be. Useful, good looking and convenient.
2 of 2 found this helpful In this day and age of streaming movies and flash drives they don't seem to make multi-CD/DVD players. In fact they just about stopped at this one, and what a shame that is. I still have hundreds of CD's and DVD's and I'd like a convenient way to store, watch and listen to them and the Sony DVP-CX995V is the best way. It reads most all of the formats (except CD+R), allows one to file, organize and easily select a disc. While Pioneer has something close, the Sony is less expensive and easier to use. It looks great and has a respected position under my modern TV.

Nice looking but several flaws
Generally good quality construction. It's a good feature that it can be wired so as to avoid having to continually recharge the battery. However there are a number of clear negatives.
1. Motion sensitivity is not so good - it takes many seconds to activate and (see #2) then it's too late.
2. The range of view is too limited - you cannot see someones head/face when they're at the door and the camera doesn't activate (see #1) until they're already there.
3. Wiring the unit into the existing doorbell wiring removes the possibility of using your existing doorbell (if wired in series with a mechanical switch, it doesn't work).
