Problem with packaging

I’m happy with the bag. However, the packaging left a lot to be desired. It should have come in a box. I had difficulty opening the tightly taped plastic package and had to cut it open. In so doing, although I was very very careful, the scissors slit a place in the bag open, & I hope that it can be repaired at an alterations shop.
