Amazing Rifle Technology
The "follow the bouncing ball" principle of the hold-over moving red led showing the adjusted point of aim if totally impressive. The display is well organized and it activates quickly when the remote or internal button is pressed. Sharp - clear optics, which you would expect from Burris. Scope is a bit bulky for a 3-12X40 but it does eliminate a separate hand-held range finder. My only reason for not giving it a 5* is the 3-12 power limitation. I am used to 6-24 at least. If 12X is good enough for you, and it is normally common for hunters, you will love the clarity and functionality of this optic.

I put a pair of these on a new 2015 Harley Freewheeler (trike). They have 6 times the CREE leds that a Kuryakin road light has and costs about $300 with led conversion. They truly day-light-up the road for about 40" out from the bike. Very solid construction and such a unique BMW/Audi look coming down the road. Day time BRIGHT lighting makes you very visible to on-coming traffic.

Former 10D & 30D owner. Now 40D!!!
As an advanced amature photographer of 60+ years, I don't quite know where to begin writing a review. Canon has truly produced an upgrade in the xxD family of camera bodies. Being fully compatible with the 30D, which I just sold, saved me a fortune. My 100-400 zoom, 10-22 wide angle, and everything else from my 30D bag works perfectly with the 40D. Thank goodness. I simply could not afford to start over. The "Live-View" with the expanded 3" screen is overdue but most welcome for composing/framing that perfect picture. I shoot a lot of extremely fast model racing boats (50 - 90 mph, and 2- 4 feet long)that are like trying to catch a fly open-handed. I shoot a lot of empty wakes. The 6.5fps capture rate is amazing and makes this older photog look good. I shoot at least 1,000 shots in a two day weekend meet to get 50-70 really good ones. LOVE DIGITAL. If they leave this link, come see what I shoot with the Canons, 'er - photo shoot, in the gallery. http://www.brandonmodelboaters.com Non-commercial, private boat club. All are welcome to view.
