Geat Sub for the Money
2 of 2 found this helpful I did some research when purchasing a new system. I looked at the usual suspects (JBL, QSC & Yorkville) and decided on the EV speakers. I have two of these subs. They sound great. Nice hard hitting deep base. Light in weight (72lbs) and small in size. The DSP is helpful along with 2 levels of limiters. The only drawback is that they hit the limiter rather quickly. I usually have to set the sound from -6db to -8db. My setup (2 15p & 18 sp) is sufficient for 90% of the gigs I do. However, given the pair of corresponding tops (EKX15p) that I own seem to be louder or shall I say have more headroom than these subs (15p's 1500W vs 18sp's 1300W), I will probably get two more for of them for the other 10% of the gigs I do.
