A Fine Pagan
This book assumes that the reader has some general sense of Byzantine History. That being said, this book is a first class encapsulation of Julian's life and place in the history of the Eastern Roman Empire. One gets a good sense of how destructive Christianity was on its way to becoming the official religion of Rome. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in Roman/Byzantine History. It is mercifully short and very readable.

The Bible is myth, legend, folklore, campfire tales. Science explains the world. The Bible only obfuscates it!
The Bible is offered to us as real history. But it is at least 90% pure mythology. This book helps to explode the pseudo-history of the Bible. Modern humans are like Bronze/Iron Age primitives. They believe in 2000 year old Mother Goose tales---Adam made from a lump of clay, Eve made from a rib, Noah and his floating menagerie, Moses spitting the Red Sea, Jesus walking on the water, Jesus feeding a few thousand people on two cans of tuna fish and one loaf of rye bread, etc. etc. Our species needs to grow up!
