A Surprisingly Enjoyably Nonwrestling Game from the WWE
A surprisingly entertaining game from the WWE. Hoping to branch out from the normal fighting/wrestling games, Crush Hour is a Twisted Metalish demolition derby involving the WWE superstars of 2002. I personally was not expecting the game to be very good, buying it more for brand name than anything. It did exceed my expectations, with gameplay as good as Twisted Metal and other like games, and acceptable graphics. Downsides include poor commentary, game modes that do not particularly add the game, and the lack of a coherent season/story mode. (Though I could make other comments, but they would only be relevant to the hardcore wrestling fans). In the end though, if you are a wrestling fan who enjoys the demo derby genre of games, then i do recommend this for you. It is nothing spectacular, but I think it is a solid, enjoyable game.

The Return of Extreme
ECW! ECW! ECW! This DVD chronicles the life of Extreme Championship Wrestling from the eyes of those who lived through, however brief the time. The documentary is told primarily by Paul Heyman, the man who promoted ECW until it's demise. The documentary itself is wonderfully done, utilizing the WWE's great video library. Most of the extras are interesting and outlines some of the emotion and humor that was going on behind the scenes. Where the DVD comes up short (just barely) is some of the match choices. I would like to see more matches (or at least higher profile matches), especially since there were so many WWE contracted wrestlers that came through ECW.

Fire Pro Returns
The legendary Fire Pro wrestling finally hits American audiences with PS2's Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. The series is best known for its amazing depth and attention to detail. This is no exception. Almost every detail in the game is editable and has the most in depth CAW of any wrestling video game I have played. Massive amounts of options are created for your wrestlers and even rings and promotions can be edited to your whim. FPW Returns also offers unique match types, ranging from exploding death matches to MMA slug fests. The only drawbacks are graphics and controls. Graphics haven't changed much since the 32 bit days of SNES, but that is not a major concern. Controls on the other hand, need practice, as this game differs from most American button-mash, arcade style wrestling games. Though with proper practice, this is overcome fairly easily. Overall, this game is fun for those who are hardcore into wrestling games, but not for the casual fan. The game has amazing range of customization to most aspects of character creation. Most importantly, it's just fun!
