One of the best books I have ever read.
I am an avid reader and have not read such a great book in many, many years. I purchased this book at the suggestion of a friend, and the book did not disappoint. I was hooked immediately and loved the way even the minor characters were important to the story. I became so attached to Eliza and enjoyed the chapters skipping from past to present. I so highly recommend this book and have passed it on myself to many friends--all of anxiously awaiting Kate Morton's new book, The Distant Hours.

Not as good as the first two books in this series.
I purchased and read this book as it was the third book in a series and I loved the first two books. The first two books were my introduction to Tami Hoag, and I loved the characters and suspense, etc. That said, however, this third book, Down the Darkest Road, was nowhere near as good as the first two books in the trilogy. I struggled through parts and speed read some chapters. I am glad I read it to follow through on the character's lives, however.

Quick read with lots of twists and surprises
I could not put this book down. I loved the short chapters, quick read and many twists and surprises.
