Defective battery // Do not buy
Item was delivered with slight delay, most probably due to post office fault. However, item was defective; it could not hold full charge. First charge reached about 75%, and after third charge would not go above 64%. Item was returned for refund, but the seller never compensated me for the return shipping charges.

A tiny little rodent that works fine
I bought this second-hand item for compatibility with my old Power Mac G5 that currently runs OSX (10.5.1); it has been working fine for many months now. Very good quality.

An efficient, low-cost, portable device
(+) I used this product to pull out some data from an old (and partially crashed) laptop hard drive (2.5", SATA III) in order to save it to my new hard disk. My operating system is Windows 7 x64, and the device worked just fine for me. (+) Overall quality of the materials is very good. Only the plastic for the housing of the SATA/PATA/IDE to USB 2.0 adapter is of the standard average quality; but I've had devices of similar plastic material in the past; if you take good care of them (and don't leave them exposed to direct sunlight), they will last for many, many years. (+) A MOLEX to SATA power cord adaptor is also included; in my opinion, this is an additional advantage, for it gives you the potential to (theoretically) connect even the old(est) hard drives directly to your computer(s). (-) For EU and UK users, the US power cord will be a problem; but this is clearly shown in the item description, while the remedy is very simple: you only need an additional converter (e.g. a universal one would be a good idea if you also travel a lot). (+) The product comes in a very small and convenient package that you can use for later storage and/or travel. (+) The price ($10.99) is competitive, and the international shipping is FREE. == Overally, I rate this device as "VFM" and give it a solid "9/10".
