Roland JP 8000 Virtual Analog Synthesizer
4 of 6 found this helpful This is an excellent synth,lots of great sounds and endless tweakability in real-time...But it cannot stand alone. You need another synth or a drum-machine.
I already owned a JX 305,so them both together are well suited for any eletronica,Psychedelic,Trance,ambient or Hip hop-composing. I would advise you to buy another synth first,so you have some basics covered already.
Then buy the JP8000 to add the cherry on the cake,as it truely is a cherry once you got all the basics covered by another synth...
Nevertheless this is one man's opinion,but that's my advice.
The JP8000 is after all a wonderful machine,one of it's kind.
