Cannon downrigger line counter depth meter and drive gear

I purchased this kit to replace the counter on the side of the pulley, a counter that never worked, properly, or even at all. I called Cannon and was directed to several tech support reps, each one knew less about the product than the previous rep. None of them knew that a second gear, on the reel, was needed to make it work. What a nightmare. After a few days of searching for a part number on the internet I was able to find a supplier who had the part I needed to make it work.
