Easy cooking: sous vide
A couple of details that are a bit irksome: no manual included (probably up in the sky for download, but I haven't hunted for it yet). Roller tends to flip itself out of position. What this does fantastically, however, is to seal food for two purposes: freezing (since you vacuum out air, there's no freezer burn and you can customize the size of the "bag" you use) and creating packets that can be cooked sous vide which is a method well worth using.

Dead and Useful
A sometimes amusing and almost always interesting book detailing the use of cadevars for various studies (i.e., damage to bones from various kinds of car crashes). I bought it used, so the price was also within my range for recreational reading. The writer is irreverent in spots, which makes the journey jollier. It is not about dying, but about how the dead can be useful to the living.

Need a quad tip?
Seems expensive for a cane that will need some kind of replacement quad tip so it can stand up. Generally comfortable and adjustable.
