Something is wrong
I have used this type of clincher without the release for years and if I haven't saved parts of the old ones this item would have been unusable. It was impossible to get the little insert into the slot to secure the cable. The best I could do caused the tab to contact the lower swivel causing it to bind. Using the old tabs I was able to easily slide the tab into place. If not for the fact I wanted the release, I would have returned them.
