Boombox 1 Hit Records
This vinyl collection of 3 records takes you on a historical journey of early rap including disco beats and breaks, hip-hop and the start of electro not to mention the fact that these are early independent labels.
The vinyl sleeves share a wealth of background knowledge into the start of the independent rap music scene starting back with the label producers and artists including Grandmaster Flash from the late 1970's right up to the start of the well known Run
DMC and their first big hit that changed the rap scene. The rap scene changed dramatically from a MC rapping over a DJ's back beat and instrumental vinyls like Queens 'Another One Bites the Dust', to a drum machine pumping out a beat and an MC waxing lyrical over this hard beat with not much musicality like the old school disco rap!
If you want the authentic independent no-nonsense approach to the beginning and ending of the innocent rapping styles of the late 1970's - early 1980's then go no further than Boombox 1
