Seems to work OK. I am using it in my insulated greenhouse (with small oil filled radiator) and find that to keep my max/min thermometer in the desired range I have to set the thermostat quite a bit higher. However, now I know this, my plants are looking much happier.

The Moomins and the great flood

Imaginative and enchanting

I love Tove Jansson's books about the Moomins for their originality and her wonderfully strange (and innocent) imagination. I think they are masterpieces and this book is no exception. (It is the first one she wrote, as escapism during WW2 years- it certainly does take you to another world.) They bring back childhood memories for me (even though I only had/read one book as a child) and I find them enchanting.

Now filled with compost, and carrot an...

Now filled with compost, and carrot and parsnip seeds sown (in my greenhouse) to see if they will grow for autumn and winter. Seem strong enough, deep enough and have drainage holes in the bottom. I like that I can fold them away when not in use. (I cannot lift them when filled, but my husband can, so if you are not very strong, best to fill them where you want them.)
