The most thought provoking book I've read in ten years.
This is a very accessible book - easy to read and a compelling page-turner.
It puts the whole of human evolution into context, from the big bang to the present day.
It also makes a number of very acute observations that will really get you thinking, such as; from an evolutionary standpoint, we didn't domesticate wheat, wheat domesticated us! Or; that we would still be living in small tribal groups were it not for shared beliefs in irrational ideas, such as following a religion.
Brilliant stuff, can't recommend it highly enough, and probably a good read for bright GCSE students onwards who want to get a context for their studies.

Dale Carnegie has let himself go.
Brilliant book explaining how Stewart Lee invented Stewart Lee The Comedian and managed to achieve a position of feeling comfortable (and financially viable) in his own skin.
