I love all things wine, spending time with my dog, friends, and family. I like photography, the outdoors, and living in California. I'm also a recovering bicycle junkie, and still relapse into old buying and selling habits occasionally.
The Crossley ID Guide: Raptors (Crossley Id Guides), Sullivan, Brian, Liguori, J
29 August 2019
One of the best books for identifying raptors.
This is an excellent guide for learning to identify hawks. This book has many photographs of each type of raptor, so you can see the markings while they are flying or perched, etc. I have only begun going through it and haven't used it in the field yet. I'm looking forward to it.
The golf club identification and price guide The golf industry stand

Awesome. Tom Wishon. Magic.
A great resource to have on hand. Also a great compilation of brief histories of tons of golf companies. I didn't realize it was written by Tom Wishon until I'd received it. The man is a wizard and I am just now discovering him. Pick one up, you won't be disappointed (and if you are, turn around and sell it, they're out of print.)
HP 35s Scientific Calculator
14 December 2017
looks can be deceiving
I'm really enjoying this calculator. I typically use the Casio Fx-115ES for scientific stuff. In my field (Land surveying) many of the old timers use these so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a totally different order of operations (RPN) which I've used before, but no with complex calculations. I'm getting the hang of it and digging it so far. I'm not sure if I will switch full time, but I am open.
