Dr HO'S Decompression Belt Back Brace Lumbar Support & Extender Belt 2019 New
13 April 2019
Helped me avoid surgery.
I ordered this inflatable belt with some skepticism, but I was taking desperate measures to avoid serious surgery to fuse two vertebrae with bone on bone contact. I would wake each morning with pain up to the level 9 on a 1 to 10 scale. I took all sorts of prescription pain killers and they took up to 4 hours to kick in. Against doctors orders I used some alcohol to try to get the pain killers to act quicker. I, literally could not walk for the first 4 hours each day.
When I got the belt I put it on and, due to my waist size it was a little uncomfortable but it did feel like it was doing something. That was a little over a month ago. When I put it on the first morning, I could immediately walk. With it on the pain level dropped to about a 2. I had already quit the pain killers (Oxycodone) and the alcohol.
After two hours wearing the belt, I could take it off and function rather normally all day long. I am 71 years old. I don't exercise much due to the pain and I'm going to wait to see how this works out over time before I do try to exercise again.
I cancelled the very invasive operation that would have taken a year of rehabilitation and would probably lead to another such operation within two to three years.
I noticed that some of these belts on line are much more expensive than the $38. I spent. I don't see how they can be any better. I do have good insurance and it would have paid all of it, but I wanted it as quick as possible. Shipping wasn't all that fast, I must say.
The long and short of it is I am happy with this product.
